WILLIAM OSCAR GOAD b. 1884 Dent County MO
I am searching for information on my grandfather's parents. William Oscar Goad, nickname Scott, was born September 22, 1884 in Sligo, Dent County MO, according to his Social Security Card application. Parents are listed as Felix William Goad and Nancy Drummonds.
I believe that Felix died in 1884 or 1885 in Dent County, or possibly Phelps county, but I have been unable to find any information on him. I do know that Nancy remarried and moved to Poplar Bluff, which is recorded in the 1900 census. If anyone has any information about Felix, please contact me. Thanks.

Terry, I have a gggrandfather named William G. Goad. Lived in actually Cook Station Missouri where my grandfather was born from his son Luke. Ken has told me that William joined the Union Army at an age he should have known better took ill and Luke his son brought him back from Tenn. to Rolla where he died. William's only brother John also joined and same happened to him. Luke is my greatgrandfather, making William my gg. I have birth and death dates and a little bit more if interested. It's odd we are so close on info even same area. My roots are all over crawford, dent, phelps co. Missouri, I was born in St. Louis but live in Louisiana now. Hope to talk again. liz

Howdy, I am looking for any information on Rex Goad. Rex, a young boy, is buried in Sligo cemetery. He died of blood loss as a result of having his leg blown off while sitting on a civil war cannon while some older boys who had powdered it up, set it off, blowing off his right leg. Does any of this story come down with your family? Thanks, Allen
