Elton Cecil Goad was the son of J. Ernest and Margaret Etta.Goad born 1879 and 1881, married 1896, Ernest was the son of George M. and Emma Goad of White County, Tenn. George was the son of Marlin Young Goad and Margaret (Morris) Goad of Smith County, Tenn. With a wife and four children, Marlin enlisted in the Army and went with Andrew Jackson to the Battle of New Orleans. There he died several months after the battle.

I will give you Marlin's ancestors in another message.

I have my Marlins mixed up. The father of George M. Goad was a Marlin who married Lucinda Piercy and moved to Arkansas. His father was the Marlin who died at New Orleans and who married Peggy Morris.
From there we go back to William-William-John, Abraham, the first known Goad in Virginia,
The youngest William is bit confusing. I wrote a book on the Goads. The wife of George M. was Emma Barnerd.
