Robert Gnoss born East Prussia: moved family from Volhynia to Vahlhausen by Horn, Bad Meinberg, Lippe, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany and lived there during WWII years. The house at Vahlhausen #3 where they lived burned down circa 1954 (to the foundation). Seeking any surviving descendants of this family, or any additional information:
Robert Gnoss, born about 1865, & August Kienn, married 2 Jan 1885 in Heimtal Parish, Zhitomir area, South Russia [Ukraine].
son Albert Gnoss, alive 5 Jan 1948, living Vahlhausen #3.
grandson Hans Gnoss (son of Albert), born 19 Jul 1923, WWII soldier missing in action 1945 in Russia.
granddaughter (daughter of Albert), name unknown, with baby in 1947.
Robert Gnoss was brother to my Great Grandmother, Marie Louise Gnoss, (born 26 Jun 1863, baptized 19 Feb 1864 at Sankt Johann Evangelish Church in Bartenstein, East Prussia [Bartoszyce, Warminsko-Mazurskie, Poland]. Marie Louise Gnoss married Gustav Rudolph Steinbach 6 Jun 1882 in Heimtal Parish, Zhitomir, and they emmigrated to Wisconsin, USA.
