I'm a Gminski over here, We did the Giminski spelling though because some people couldn't grasp the concept of how to pronounce it.
Let me know how the family tree is going too please because I was thinking about making one too for my daughters so they can see where their heritage is :)
I'm married now though, so I'm a Schmidt

I am Nan Gminski from great-grandparentage on my father's mother's side of Mary and Anthony Orlowicz (circa 1862) and father's father's side of (Joseph) Simon Gminski and Catherine of no last name at this time. They were in Orleans County, NY and Albion, NY, and buried in St. Joseph's cemetary.

Would your grandfather's name be Eugene? Son of Mary and Stanley Gminski? My father's name is Richard, and he and Eugene and (possibly) Art were born within a day of each other I think in July, 1924. Mary would be Richard's aunt, as she was sister to Sophie, his mom...both women were married to Gminski men (Stanley and Charley), however they don't seem to be related (still working on this one) but the priest, at Charley's funeral kept referring to him as Stanley...this was in 1974. I was in college and remember Charley's kids being quite upset about this. I think they were both carpenters, so the town was confused by who was who maybe?

Arthur Gminski from Orleans County, Albion,Ny, born circa 1920ish?
|
Would Stanley Giminski be your grandfather? From Orleans County, in Albion, NY? Married to Mary Orlowicz who had 5 sisters?
|
Stanislav and Mary Orlowicz Gminski are part of my Gminski family tree b/c Mary is one of 5 sisters of my grandmother, Sophie, who married Charley Gminski and had 3 kids. I am interested in the Arthur and Eugene part of the family b/c they are my dad's cousins, and one was born a day apart from my dad, Richard on 7/31/1924. My email is nancornell@sbcglobal.net

So your grandfather is Eugene Gminski, with a bday in July 1924?
|
Well, you are full-circle, sort of (married to a Schmidt), as these Gminskis came from "Germany-Poland"

My dad, Richard, and his brother Leonard were in the USArmy at that time. They were from Albion, NY. Richard would have loved to be a pilot if not for his colorblindness. Is Tommy from Buffalo, NY? He may have been cousins to my Gminski family.
