I was wondering who is the father of my great great grandfather and how does he become mixed white and black. Maybe someone can help me figure this out. I know he is from the Newberry and Union county area and he had a son name Tobias (Toby), my great grandfather. I am african american and through discussion amongst our elders i was told that my line of glymph's were never slaves therefore. I believe that either one of Johanns sons fathered a child by black woman I say this because George William Glymph, my great great grandfather was born in the late 1700's of early 1800's. Any information please email me at gglymph@hotmail.com or just reply

This is to add on to what this young man has stated and I too, would also like to recieve some of the same information. I talked to my mother who informed me that our great-grandfather's name might of been Orlander Tobias Glymph. If you need any helpful information about him, he was married to the former Chaney Hodges who born to them were 11 children. My grandfather was the eldest son and a master carpenter in Columbia, SC. we are just seeking a bit more information on the family and would appreciate any information that could be forwarded. I'd appreciate any information to be either posted here or sent to the following email address- greene1970@hotmail.com
