Looking for ancestors and relatives of my great grandmother Sarah Ann (Sally) Glimp, b. NYC around 1820 to Rebecca and David Glimp. We suspect that her parents left her to work in NY State (Westchester County) while the rest of the family moved south or west, but have been unable to verify this.

Doris - Thanks for getting back to me. My Sally Ann was born in NYC. The father's name on the death certficate is very hard to read. It could be Daniel Glimp. Do you have any Daniels? Thanks. Janet

Janet, The only Daniel Glimp has a later date. What date are we working around?

GLIMPS in New York - Timeframe
Sarah Ann GLIMP was born about 1820 in New York City. Someone told me they had seen a David GLIMP in the Indiana Census after that time period. At the time, I thought Sarah's father's name was Jacob (that's what her obit said) , so didn't check further. Does this David mean anything to anyone? Maybe the family left Sarah in NY to be raised by someone else, or to work on an estate.
