Hi Wayne

Of course....no probs. I can Email the photos to you if you let me have your contact details, however, my Mum has the originals at the moment so it might take a week or so by the time I retrieve them.

Saying that, do you think Betty, Den and Joan would be willing to meet my Mum the next time she visits Thornbury? She doesn't know much about her biological mother or indeed other family members and I'm sure she would love to have a chat with some people who knew them in person and lived in the village at the time. If they had some old photos that would be the icing on the cake!

I haven't mentioned this idea to my Mum so if it isn't possible don't worry.... it was just a passing thought.

Regards

Angela

I'm sure they'd love to talk to your mother. I'll give you their last name via email. Thanks.

Thanks for that Wayne....I'm sure Mum will be very pleased to speak with them. I will forward the photos anon.

Pity I didn't know you were in Plymouth a few weeks back searching out your family roots. I'm aware of the places you visited and have even parked in the said car lot, however, it is Stoke Damerel not Stork Damerel (or was that another jet lag moment!? ;-)......just wanted to make sure that your records were correct.

We are very lucky to be situated in such a wonderful part of the UK with easy access to both the sea and of course Dartmoor, however, it was a tad unfortunate that Hitler and the subsequent town planners made such a mess of our once beautiful city centre and it hasn't quite been the same since!!!

Will be in touch soon.

Angela

:) Yes, I still have jetlag and am a bit doppy. I think Stork Damerel is the name of the maternity ward at the local hospital!
