Re: GLIDDEN, NH, 1550 - PRESENT
Not sure if there is any connection here however my great great grandfather's name was George Glidden who married Miranda Cressey in Maine. I do believe George was born here in Maine, possibly Bath, Me. I know that George and Miranda had a daugter Viola born 01/28/1891, Viola married Harrison M. Workman. Viola passed away in 1978 in NH.

Re: GLIDDEN, NH, 1550 - PRESENT
Don't know if you are still with ancestry.com. Anyway, it looks like John Glidden b abt 1738 is the same "Deacon" John Glidden that was father of Charles Allen Glidden and part of my wife's line. Charles ended up in Rochester, NY where we have a family bible back through him. I hadn't gotten further back than John though.
