My grandmother was Pearl Gleischmann, born of German immigrants in PA in 1898. Couldn't find a Gleischmann on the family surname board, but I have heard that the Americanized version of the name became Glickmann. I have only begun a search on my grandmother named Gleischmann and fear I am at a deadend already. Good luck in your searches. Alvieterzhen! (sp?)

My grandfather, Louis Glickman, immigrated from Romania to New York in the early 19th Century. He settled in Brooklyn and had a tailor shop on Delancey Street. He married Pauline Shlumchug, who immigrated from Hungary, and lived in Brighton Beach. Their children are Ralph (my father) and his twin brother, Eddie, Esther and Marlene (Mitzi).

I am seeking Anna Glickman, probably born about 1850, in or about Iase (Jassi?) Romania. Her spouse's surname was Leifer -- also from Romania. Anna was my great-grandmother; she had nine children, born between 1886/8 and 1915.
