Have read with interest messages posted re Glickman family.
Our Glickman family originated from Moinesti, Romania.
Their original name was Gluckman. They arrived in U.S.
Sep. 1893 on the Hungaria ship, sailing from Hamburg.
I recently extracted this data from the Ellis Island Database.
They settled in Brooklyn, N.Y.
If you feel there is a connection, please contact me and I
will gladly send you names of ancestors and descendants.
They are my husband's maternal family.
Good Luck with your research. Ena Jacobs

I have a relative named Pauline Glickman who married
Jacob Abroshski ( not sure of spelling, later changed to Abrosh ) at around the turn
of the century. They had a son Louis in 1907, who was presumably born in New York. If any of this
sounds familiar, please contact me.

Hello Mark.
I cannot help you in your search for the Glickman family roots, but I noticed that Max Glickman was married to Reva Golub. Do you have any idea when and where she came from? My part of the Golubfamily came from around Kiev.

All the best

Reva was my Great Grandmother - my living grandmother's mother. My Grandmother's maiden name is actually Goldstein because Reva married a Goldstein after she was Married to Max. I am trying to find more history on Glickman before my grandmother passes, because my grandmother last saw and spoke to him when she was 3 years old, and I'm sure he sired another family before he died. Therefore there may be biological brothers and sisters of my grandmother still alive.
Thanks for the reply. If you need any more information about the Golubs on my side let me know - and if you ever find any information about Max Glickman that would be great!

Mark, how come you dont write

My Gluckman / Glickman family was fromo Iasi, Romania and came to NY around turn of century. I Have their names and some dates. They are not the same as your family but they may have been michpacha in Romania. Before 3 generations of Gluckmans , the family name was RATINE. They changed it when two of them escaped from Russia to avoid being conscripted into the Czar's army. I hope to find "survivors" and possible relatives there and here that I hadn't known of. Greetings from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,

My father, Sydney (Shia) Alexander Golub, 1914-1993, always thought that he was born somewhere in or near Odessa, Ukraine. He moved to Wladimieretz with 3 other brothers, Joshua (Yosef), Isidore, Moshe ( Morris) and their parents, Leibl (Lev) and Miriam Golub, ???-1919/1920. My father and 2 of his brothers departed aboard the Scandinavian from Warsaw, Poland in 1921 and immigrated to Canada. Morris later immigrated to Ellice Island in NY, USA. Are there any possible links with my ancestry and your family from Odessa?

Best regards,
Murray Golub

I just started trying to find my ancestors so I do not have to much info. My Great-Grandmothers name was Sarah Glickman she then married Isadore Wexler. I know she was buried in Chicago, IL.
They had a daughter Elsie and a son Dave or Abby. Elsie was born in Chicago, lived in New York and Canada. Isadore lived in Canada as well.
