Have a Walter E BARRATT/BARRETT married to Hannah GLANVILLE/GLANVILL. They married in Colyton Devon. It is known that Walter E Barratt and Hannah Glanville moved to Aspull, Wigan Lancs.

One of their daughters Elizabeth( Bessie) Barratt married George FOSTER in Wigan, Lancs. Their third child, a daughter was named Glanville. By 1901 three of Bessie's siblings were also living with her in Wigan..

Another daughter Minnie emmigrated to Canada and several of the other children emigrated to Australia.

Is anyone researching Hanna Glanville either in Devon or Lancashire? Her husband Walter E Barratt/ Barrett died in Whelley, Wigan, Lancashire.

Hi, wow this is weird. My maiden name is Glanville, my married name is Hanna.

My great grandfather's name was John Glanville who married a Barratt/Barrett(Louisa)in Cootamundra NSW Australia abt 1908. The only other info I have is my grandfather John William Glanville d. 1967 m. Evelyn Hunter d. 1969. They married at Cootamundra also and both died in Sydney NSW Australia.

Do you think Louisa could have been one of the children who moved to Australia. I can't find anything.

My Louisa BARRETT/BARRATT was born November 2 1813 in Colyton, Devon. Daughter of Hezekiah BARRATT (b 1789, Colyton)and Susanna PERRYMAN (daughter of William PERRYMAN and Hester PERRY). Hezekiah and Susanna married 31 Dec 1812 in Branscombe England.

This makes Louisa the Aunt of Walter Edward BARRATT (married to Hannah GLANVILLE)and thus far I've only found some of Walter's children emigrating to Australia, so doubt this Louisa was ever in Australia. As far as I can see Walter and Hannah didn't have a daughter named Louisa but of course it is possible one of the children who emigrated may well have had a daughter by that name, so there is a possibilty that there is a connection somewhere along the BARRATT line.

Thank you for your response. Since my initial message I have traced a Louisa Glanville d. 1944 at Cootamundra NSW Australia and her parents were Joseph and Sarah Barrett. She seems to be the one I'm looking for but can't locate birth. I'm thinking that she may have been born overseas but then again I can't locate birth of my great grandfather (her husband)either. I may be some indirect connection but I haven't come across others that you mentioned.
