Am looking for Gladden's that resided in or around Monk's corner or Charleston, S.C. Oldest known Gladden would be born in the 1800's. If you have any info pls reply to my email.

My grandmother was a Gladden. She was one of 12+/- children. She was the baby. Some of her brothers were still living in MC but she and her mother, and sister, Bertha, moved to New Orleans. Her name was Inez Pauline Gladden.

My great grandmother was Daisy Gladden and her daughter Bertha was my grandmother. Daisy Gladdens mother (Ellen Jackson) did take my grandmother with her when she moved to New Orleans. If Inez is your mother then you are my Mom's cousin. Her name is Mary (Grover) Schram.

We came to Wisconsin to pick up my great grandmother Daisy to bring her to Michigan to live with us when I was a kid. She died in Yancey County, NC in 1980. Please contact me if you would like! I would love to hear from you!

Surnames: Gladden, Thompson
Hi there. We are related! My grandmother was Inez Pauline gladden Stephens Eason. My grandmother lived with us from the time I was 13. She had been living with her older sister, Bertha, in the New Orleans area. My parents are Naomi (Stephens) Thompson and Jesse Thompson. They visited Daisy and another cousin, Freddy. I don't know if he is still alive. My mother has dementia now but they used to write each other. So many of that generation are gone now and it is hard to track down those that remember. Gran passed away in 1986 in Montgomery, Alabama. My parents are still living in Montgomery, mom is now 88 and going strong (other than her short term memory) my dad just turned 90. We had cousins on mom's side that lived into their 100's.

I just checked back and saw this post so wanted to let you know I read it. How great to hear from you. Do you know any of the family in South Carolina? Some of my grandmother's brothers lived in Moncks Corner (Sammy and Johnny) my folks visited them too. Daddy loved to travel when they were a bit younger. Trying to attach some pics taken recently. I am the dark haired daughter, my sister is the blonde.

My name is Sherron, by the way, merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hi Sherron!
My name is Sherrie. My middle name is Ellen, named after your grandmothers Mother (Ellen Jackson Gladden). I talked to my Mom and you would be second cousins. She met Bertha (Aunt Birdie) but didn't get to ever meet your Grandmother Inez. She did get to spend time with her Uncle Freddy though. We know that Ellen moved to New Orleans with the kids but why? We know that her husband George Gladden stayed in SC. Do you know if they divorced? And what made her go to New Orleans? Were they Irish? My great Grandmother Daisy had bit of a accent. Just not sure who was Irish, the Jacksons or the Gladdens or both. I do not know any of the family in SC. I wish that I did. Are the pictures of your parents? I have so many questions, I'm sorry. I've just been searching for two years now for information about the Gladdens and Jacksons. I appreciate your getting back with me. I'll send you some pictures soon.
Merry Christmas to you and your family too!!
Sherrie
