Sorry, I do not have birthdates. I have been out of town most of the time the past two years or so and have not looked into this as much as I would like. I believe that you could find Frank Burich in Joliet, IL in the 1930's.

Hi JIM
I have information that may be of help to you and Gary. My husbands father, (Eugene C. Glad)s parents came from Yugoslavia. Eugene lived at 1056 Madison, Chula Vista, Ca. Several of his brothers used his address. His brother Tony (Anthony) also lived in Chula Vista, Ca. They had a brother named John married to Marie Hammond. They lived in Dewitt, Ill. I don't know who his children were, I do have a picture of him, his wife and a young son.
I have one picture of Mike Glad born Sept. 29, 1888 of Johnston Ill. Mike was from Yugoslavia. I could not connect him until now with your info.
I hope we can continue to exchange bits and pieces. Happy I found you. Brenda

Here's what I know about a Mary (Glad) Pasternak from Joliet, IL:

Her mother's maiden name is Evelyn Turk. (Possibly with an umlaut on the u). She was born in Hungary, March 9, 1888.

Mary Glad was born in Alabama(?), January 22, 1909.

Mary Glad married Leo Pasternak, who was born in Indiana, February 3, 1905 (or 1906).

Thank you for your post. This is the same information I have as this is my family. Eva Turk was my Great-Grandmother and Mary Glad was my Grand Aunt. How are they related to you?

That is great. You are the first person I have found that is actually related to my Glad family. I am the granddaughter of Edward Glad, Mary Glad's brother.

Brenda.

so sorry for the delayed posting. I haven't been keeping track of this thread but have recently come across someone from the area with more information about the Glads in Jablan, so my interest level rose and I found your post. Mike whom you mentioned from Johnston is probably my grandpa Petars brother Mike who died in Johnston City, IL in 1947 or 48.

can you contact me at gladpj@earthlink.net ? I will be happy to share information that I have with you.
