I am looking for some information on my great
-grandfather CharlesGLackin b: 1854 in Co.
Fermanagh Ireland. He came to the New Britain
CT area and married Margaret McGuire.
Charles parents were Owen Glackin and Mary
Spencer. I don't know of any siblings of
Charles, but I know there were cousins in
the area(Kerrigans, I think). Margaret came
with some sisters.Any info would be
appreciated. Thanks!

Im probably the only Glackin in Co fermanagh and my great grand father Charles Glackin lived in Co Donegal and was born 1850,s.His father was Henry Glackin died in late 19 centuary. He had cousins and nephews Charles Glackin that all came from co donegal. Some emigrater to USA late 19 centuary and1900,s.Glackin is mainly found in Co donegal. Most Glackins in Ireland can be traced back to co Donegal. The Charles Glackin your looking for could be only working in Co Fermanagh
God Bless

Hi Joe

I just saw this reply. My new email is Martha.Gregor@sanofi.com. My great-grandfather Charles Glackin was born in 1854/1855 and came to the US and eventually settled in the New Britain/Berlin CT area. His parents were listed as mother Mary Spencer and father Owen Glackin and both in Ireland but at that time, there was mention of where in Ireland. My mother often spoke of Fermanagh, that is why I thought that was where he was from. Charles married a Margaret McGuire that supposedly was from the same area.
