Looking for info on my Fathers background...

I can't seem to find anything about my parents, except when they were born and when they died, which I already knew. I was looking at my parents marriage certificarte, and it had my dads name as Walter J Glump, but in parentheses was(Glab). I'm very confused. I have no idea who or what the (Glab) is all about. According to the certificate, his fathers name was John Glump, and his mothers name was Antonina. I do know that Antonina was married twice. Glump was her first marriage, and Tarnalicki was her second. There is also a Chester Glump in my family, but I don't know his relationship. I'm thinking that maybe he was my fathers, fathers brother, but I could be wrong. If anyone can help me I would really appriciate it.

Not too sure if this will help you but more information is better than less. My family, mostly in Chicago, are of Polish decent and ergo my theory for you. Glab in polish sounds like "Gwub" as the "L" has a "W" sound. If you had somebody trying to translate while listening and reading that didn't know Polish - I'm sure "Glump" might pop out.

Just a thought from somebody that get's their last name slaughtered all the time... Good luck
