Do you know if this Alphonse Girard was married to a Marguerite Paillant (not sure of the spelling) and had a daughter named Marie Elida Girard, b. 30 June 1871 in Nashua, New Hampshire?

Elida Girard was my great-grand-mother and my research ends with Alphonse and Marguerite, both French Canadians. I could not find their place of origin in Quebec, where they were born etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail directly at suzannedouville@cgocable.com

I was just wondering if in your research you happened to come across a Joseph Meyo Girard b. abt 1865 in Michigan or Canada (I have conflicting info here)he was my gGrandfather and all i am able to find out about him is from 1900 to 1935/36 any help you may have would be great...if not thanx for your time reading this anyway.

Frederic & Virginia were my ggrandparents. My Grandfather was Peter Albert Girard. Virginia remarried to Joe polette in Tupper Lake, NY where my grandfather Albert lived along with many members of her family. Frederic, I believe died in Quebec City. Hi-Just got back to research & came across your post. I must be a relaitive. Elsie was my grandmother (my mother's mom (Audrey j. Roof.) I found information that Elsie was a neice to Alphonse Burgess (he was born in Sorelle, Canada 10 May 1856.) Do you know Alphonse or Elsie's parents (where were they born?)Do you know of any siblings to Alphonse?

If you still have any doubts about Pierre first wife beeing Helene Grolot,you should read these notary acts:
notaire Francois Samuel Mckay,act # 826 (8 june 1852)
and act # 893 (12 octobre 1852).
where it's cleary stated than Pierre Leduc,spouse of Henriette Girard,his first deceaded wife Helene Groleau.

My grandmother is Elsie Amelia Marie Girard Endler. She was born in 1897 either in Canada or Chicago, Illinois. Her husband was Hans Willibald Endler.

I have managed to confirm quite a bit and decided to update as there are some changes.
1) Joseph's middle name was Meyo
2) Jennie was married prior to Joseph to a James McQueary
3) Blanche and Chester were step-children of Joseph's
I was able to garner a bit of info on Jennie based on this. I am still unable to find any records of their marriage or any background on Joseph at all. If any one has any insite on him it would be greatly appreciated.
I am also including a picture of Jennie, Joseph and an unknown man (the middle) if that helps at all.

Hello my name is Danny leon hayes Jr. Carol Jean Girard Hayes is my mother she passed away oct,23 2003 it was a very sad day i was searching on google for her add they put in the paper for her funeral and i foud this she was a brilliant person with a good heart although she made some bad decisions she was the best mother a boy could have although i am 21 now and grown there is not a day that goes by that i dont miss her i know no one will probably see this message but if any of her other family is out there and still researching this please contact me

Yes...John Girard was my grandfather. Marie was my grandmother. They died in 1924 and 1925, before I was born. they had six children....Eva, Annette, Phil, George. Jeannette and Fred(my father). One of the brothers that came from Quebec is Lou Girard.

If you are replying to my post (amvirtue), the pics I have are from Butte, MT. I also have a 4 generation pic printed in 1918 in a Montreal newpaper. It is in French, but appears to be John Girard's wife, Mary Paquet Girard and her father, Pierre Paquet. My husband's gr grandfather was John Girard I think, who came from Quebec to Montana. Are you familiar with this Girard line? There were 2 or 3 brothers who came from Quebec to Montana.

I may have contacted you in the past. Your father had just passed away, if you are the same one. I have some pictures of the Girards, one at the ranch ~ a huge gathering ~ and I may have one at the market. Have tried in the past to identify family members. Have one pic of the grandparents in Quebec with my father-in-law as a baby (four generation pic). It is captioned in French.

My father was Fred Girard, related to John Girard. My aunt was Eva Ireland(Girard). They lived on Front street. John ran a market on Arizona Street. After his death in 1925 my father(fred) ran the store until 1942 when he moved to California.

Hi, I know you posted this a while ago, but I'm hoping you may be able to help. I'm looking for a Joseph Gerard/Girard born in French Canada very likely Quebec around 1806 who had a daughter Vincynthia (or Cynthia) and possibly another daughter Harriet. He moved to NY and then by 1870 he is with his daughter and her husband Francois Chouinard/Swenord in New Jersey. I haven't been able to track him back to Canada to find out who his parents are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John James Girard would have been my great-grandfather and John William Girard my grandfather, DOB December 24, 1884. I just spoke to my father, Manser Joseph Girard and he confirmed this information to be correct.

The ship, Viola left Le Havre, France on Nov. 21, 1849 and arrived at New Orleans on January 14, 1850. Aboard was Catherine Girard, born about 1794 in France(prob. a widow,) and her five children, Anna (30), Catherine (22), Magdalena (20), Marie (17), and (son) Jean (13). The ship's captain was William Gameson. The passenger list can be found on this site.
