Searching for info on Heinrich Friedrich Gipp who married in Germany to Friedarike Wilhelmine-(some records list her as both-some list with 1 or other name)Kuester.
She was b.April 18,1803 in Kraatz-Craatz.
They married sometime around 1830. Assuming somewhere in Craatz Brandenberg Prussia.
Were the parents of 5 possibly 6 children.

Friedarike immigrated with her 2 daughters, grandaughters & son-in law on ship Johannes & landed in NY on July 21 1868. Heinrich did NOT accompany them.

Their 1st child Johann Albert Gipp was b. 24 June 1832 in Craatz Brandenberg Prussia he m. Nov 9,1862 in Jagow to Friedericke Wilhelmine Knaack.D/O:Carl Wilhelm Knack Occ: Budnor? of Jagow-according to marr. cert.

His sister is my G G Grandmother= Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Seidler married Emilie Johanne Friedericke Gipp 3 Jan 1869 at St Paul's Luth. Church ,Shawano County , Wi.

Emilie Gipp b. March 20, 1841 Kraatz immigrated on the ship Johannes with her mother Friedarike Gipp (Kuester)(b. Kraatz),sister & brother-in-law Friedrick & Friederike Gipp Krueger(he b. Furstenwerder-she b. Kraatz))- landed in NY July 21 1868 with Emilies 1 child & another on the way - who according to childrens marr & death & census records were listed as Carls children.

Yet on ships passenger list Emilie & child are listed as Gipp.

Child is Wilhelmine Gipp born in Kraatz Nov 16, 1862 marr Daniel Hoenig 20 Nov 1881 Shawano, Wi.died 30 May 1947 Shawano, Wi.. Second child Louisa Amelia was b. Dec 2, 1868 in Washington Township, Shawano Cty, Wi. marr. Julius Wilhelm Johann Gentz Nov 1,1889 Shawano, Wi. She died 9 Apr 1950 Shawano, Wi..

Family lore goes Heinrich Gipp who was a zimmerpolier hid his family when the region was beeing shelled under civil strife; apparently he decided to return to the house to recover some valuables & was killed in the attempt.

Another lore he came to Wi & resided with his son in T. of Wescott, Shawano Cty, Wi. Yet no Naturalization or ship passenger list nor census nor death record nor tombstone exist to support that theory. Also none of his sons lived in T. of Wescott.

Any help on this family would be much appreciated. I have much info from Wi records & USA records but trying to get further back into German records.

Thank you,
Kathy

Hello,

I found documents in mine:
Heinrich Friedrich Gipp was twice married. The first wedding was not in Kraatz.

In first marriage with Maria Christina Rueckert.
Children Wilhelmine Sopie Friederike born 1824, Johann Carl Friedrich born 1827, Friedrich Wilhelm bornt 1829 and Johann Albert born1832.
In second marriage with Maria Sophia Friederike Kuester those he marries in 1835. Children Carl Wilhelm Friedrich born 1835 and August Carl Friedrich born1838.
My documents only go to 1838th I do not know whether even further children were.

Peter,

I cannot begin to thank you for your info. I had given up on finding any info on this line & had stopped working on it over a year ago.

I know a relative had mentioned seeing the Rueckert name listed on a marriage certificate for 2 of Heinrichs children but she had come to conclusion it was a misprint. I can now tell her it was not a misprint.

I see you do not mention where the 1st marriage occurred. Do you know where it occurred?

Were Wilhelmine, Johann Carl & Friedrich born in Kraatz?

If no-do you know WHERE they were born? Do you have a possible place or do you not know at all?

I know Heinrich had a son or 2 who remained in New York & never came to Wisconsin. Is believed 1 son was by Rueckert & another by Kuester.
Contact was made with 1 sons ancestors some 20 years ago but have lost touch since.

Thank you soooooooooo much:)),
