I'm not sure what my grandfathers name was. Only that he came to the U.S. from Sicily and settled in California. My Grandmother disappeared or died and he married a woman named Nina and she is/was my Godmother. Any info would be appreciated.

Would you happen to know a Carol Gioia now married and her last name is Jacob. She lives in North Jersey. We graduated North Bergen High and were close friends. Her grandfather came from Italy and I believed lived in maybe the Chicago area but I'm not sure. It was a long time ago, when I met him.

My grandfather was Michael Gioia, born in Italy (I think, Naples). He was born in 1908 and moved to Brooklyn, New York as a young boy. He married Claire Mooney, of Ireland probably in the 1920s. They had three children, Frank, Richard (my dad) and Constance. I am trying to find out the names of Michael's parents, when they arrived in the US and any other helpful information. Thanks.
Gioia from Valle De Olma, Palarmo
