Greetings from LA. By any chance do you happen to have ancestors from Malaga, Spain? My great grandfather move from Malaga to Mexico City in the early 1900s. I am Mexican and are now living in L.A.

i'm trying to trace the family of Ursulla BUJAN = Frank FRANCISKO of Croatia and later the USA. BUJAN isn't a very common name, and some Croatians moved to Brazil at the turn of the 1900's. I wondered if your family were from the Rijeka, Croatia, area which is near where Ursulla and Frank were born. Please comment in reply.

Bujans from Croatia ?!

Dear Ashley
It was a surprise that Bujans came from Croatia . The data is correct near 1900 (1895 we supose) but comming from Malaga Spain. Most of families running of the Arabian wars with children 18 or 17 years old , so near to be oblied to serv the spanish army . I,m afraid we are in a rong track , but all information you know is another brick in the wall .
Best regards, cousin and a happy new year.

Well, Rupe is Croatian too

Good heavens, I hadn't realized BUJAN is Spanish. Someone pointed out to me that RUPE is not common in Croatia but is found 50 times more often in the USA than where I had thought it originated, Croatia. Some other nation or ethnicity must be involved to make RUPE show up often in America.
Maybe, Armando, you should take a look around the Rijeka, Croatia, phone book. You might find more names mysteriously familiar.
Feliz Navidad, cousin.

Ash
Maybe i have a link explanation ...Malaga is a region with a high level of arabian influence and also Gitanos (Gypsy people)...and , remember, Croatia is a melting pot with notice of both influence.
Could be a good tip.
Try to comunicate directly to my agimenez@openlink.com.br now you are in the family ...
