Richard, I have a pretty thorough tree sent to me from Betty Cannon Gimbert. It's hand-written, so I can't send it, but I could pass along pertinent info to your line from her records.

Saw your post on Ancestry.com mentioning Emily Frances Dingee. Do you have her death certificate? Do you need information on her?

I am always interested in more information if you have some. I have not been able to get any marriage/death/birth certificates yet, but have not had much time either...I have been comparing information from 4 sources that like you have answered up on the net. I have found there is some confusion between the various versions of the GIMBERT family tree from various sources, regarding the names Prior/Pryor and Benjamin, as they are used by several in the same line. My version is what I think is most likely true. I am hoping to clear up some of the discrepancies. Filling in some of the 11 kids would be nice too.

Personnally, I am not a relative, and interested only because we discovered a family cemetary plot in the woods behind my office building. I am building a property history, which naturally includes those buried in the back. There are also EWELLs buried there, but I can find no link between the families. The burials all occurred between 1870s and 1920. I am led to believe that there were probably two houses and that they may have simply been neighbors/friends and used a convenient burial plot for both. I am hoping to establish where the original houses stood and what life was like for them here. This would have been a tough post civil war timeframe for this area. Any light you can shed would be helpful.

I have collected Gimbert information for several years. Edgar O. Gimbert married my mother's first cousin, Della Blitz. It was her sister Grace Goldie Blitz who was shot and killed by her husband, Benjamin Pryor Gimbert Sr. Goldie was employed by the US Post Office at Lynnhaven, VA. Their farm and home were nearby. There is a Gimbert Drive in the area. I found the newspaper article describing the shooting on microfilm at the Vitginia Beach Central Library. If anyone is interested, I am happy to share any information.

Hi, my name is Debra Cunningham Persons, did you get the message I just sent? new to all this and I don't see it posted. My mother is Doris Gimbert Cunningham, her father was Wilton Gimbert and his parents were John Hadley and Ruth Gimbert, John was Pryor and Sarah's son. Is it on private property?

Debra:

I have a fairly detailed genealogy worked up for the GIMBERT family and can share with you if you like. I also have photographs and transcripts of each headstone available as well.

We have since changed offices, I am at 2829 Guardian Lane and could take you to it if desired, The small graveyard is at 2877 Guardian Lane. It is private property of SAIC and you might want to check in at the front desk. The gravesite is in the back of the building to the south west. I also have some emails from other relatives from other states that visited back in 2005 that you might be interested in.

I am at john.galle@hii-amsec.com email. Send me an email and I can provide phone contact info to help set up whatever you need, and some of my files on the family.
