I am also seeking information on Gilmores in Portage County, Ohio. My great-great-grandfather Henry W. Gilmore was born in Ohio on June 24, 1831 and died in Bates County Missouri on August 7, 1904. He married Cornelia C. Loomis (Oct. 23, 1939 – December 22, 1910) in Indiana on April 3, 1859. Her grave marker indicates that she was born in Ravenna (seat of Portage County) and I have seen some evidence suggesting that Henry was born in Portage County as well. I have been unable to find Henry's parents and was wondering if you knew if there is a connection between the two families. Do you know when your Henry left for MI or the names of his children? My Henry and his family were in Missouri by 1877. He and Cornelia had at least two children in Ohio: Laura in 1860 and Arthur in 1864. Any information would be helpful and appreciated.
