Patrick GILLEN, his wife Bridget REID and their family immigrated during the famine, settling in and around Sullivan Township, Grey County, Ontario, CAN. Their children born in Ireland between 1838 and 1844 were: Daniel, Mary (MALONE), James Joseph, and Patrick.
In Grey County, they had 3 more children, 1848-1854: Rose Ann (SHEWELL), Bridget, and Catharen (DOWNEY).
Is anyone here familiar with this GILLEN family? Some of them appear to have stayed in the area at least through the first few decades of the 1900s, living in several townships in western Grey County (Sullivan, Holland, Glenelg, Bentinck).
I'd like to pinpoint where they came from in Ireland, and get a bit more of their Irish history before they came here.
