Does anyone connect... to a Johann Gihlstorf b. 14 May 1827 in Germany. d. 29 May 1901 in Hay Creek Twnshp. His parents were August & Anna Klinkman Gihlstorf. He married Sophie Fredrick b. 9 Jul. 1833 in Germany. d. 4 Dec. 1916 in Belvidere Twnshp. MN. They lived in Goodhue Co. Minn. for quite some time. Their children are as follows with spouses in parenthesis.... Marie (John Oelkers), Henry (Minnie Haack), Louise (Diedrich Deden), Anna (Christ J. Reitmann), Mathilda (Jacob Grote), John Henry ( Annie). We have just recently run into this Gihlstorf/Gilsdorf name, looking into a g-g grandmother's info. (Dorothea M. Fredericks) we believe this Sophie might be her sister, from Red Wing, Minn. Would love to hear from you !

My husband is a descendant of the Sophie Fredrick you mention below that married Johann Gihlstorf and is possibly a sister of your g-g-grandmother, Dorothea. But we do not have info going back beyond Sophie, so I don't know if I'd have any info you'd be interested in. You can get back to me though, if you wish.
