Hello Leona,
I just found your query on the Giffin message board and I think we may be looking for the same line. My line is of JOSEPHIS GIFFIN. It could be Joe Sephis or Joseph. He is my mother's father and I was told he had a brother named JOHN GIFFIN. I have a list of some of John's children, and they are Fred, Este, Bessie, Lessie, Ascu, Lacie, Allie. I don't know where he was born, but his grand nephew, Wayne Giffin, lives in Seymour, MO, and that is where I got these names. Wayne also said John and Joe had a brother named CHARLES WASHINGTON GIFFIN, who is Wayne's grandfather. He was born in June of 1865 and died in 1946. I have a little more on that line if you want it, but there isn't too much. Maybe we can exchange information and come up with something. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Charles W Giffin is my great-grandfather. He has two brothers John and Josephis. I have been trying to find out who their parents are. It was widely rumored throughout the family that Pa Giffin(Charles w) was a full-blooded cherokee indian. If anyone has any information I would sure appreciate it. My uncle Wayne Giffin of Seymour, MO died last year and we don't have anyone else to ask. Please write me at freeman@olemac.net or freeman_shelly@yahoo.com.
thanks,
Mike Freeman

Hello there,
My name is Eileen Packer and I am the granddaughter of Joseph Sephis Giffin, who is brother to Charles Washington Giffin and John Willis Giffin. I understand Charles was your ?? grandfather, is that correct? I have quite a bit of genealogy on the Giffins, and would be glad to share anything I have. (I haven't 100% proved this info is currect, but I'v talked to cousins about it and they knew Uncle Charles and Aunt Martha) I met Wayne Giffin (cousin) a few years ago. He was a very nice person, and he and his Aunt Mary (Uncle Ez's wife)took us to the cemetery where part of the family is buried. Something was wrong with our camera, and the pictures we took didn't turn out. I do, however, have some pictures of Uncle Charles and Aunt Martha and John Willis and his family. Plus pictures of Joe Sephis' family, who was my mother's family.

If you get this, please let me know and I will send you anything I have. It's good to know there are other relatives out there and want to know about their families.

Please let me hear from you.
Eileen
