Giebel or Geibel, Erie Co. Pa.
We are looking for any info on a gentleman last name Giebel or Geibel who lived in this area around 1917-1919.We have aphoto of him driving a Snowflake Flour truck decorated with flags. He married Bessy Sable. They had one daughter, Reva Giebel or Geibel who was later adopted by her step father. Her father died before she was born. Her school records have both spellings of her last name and change to Kline, her adoptive fathers name in 1931.

His name was Emmanuel Giebel and he was born 4/20/1888. He was living in Erie, PA when he signed his draft card in 1917. His wife's name was actually Bertha Sabin who was the daughter of Hattie Taylor Sabin.

Re: Giebel or Geibel, Erie Co. Pa.
For further information on Emanuel Geibel's ancestry, please query him in the search function. You will find that I have researched back several generations in this family. His grandfather was the immigrant from Germany. You will find the Geibel tree blending into the Gerhard tree, and then they work into the Seibert tree which I'm compiling (descendants of Martinus Seibert, ~1700-1771). Any questions, please let me know. Best regards, Dave Briggs

Hi, saw your post and was wondering if there is a Lund family in your records? I'm researching Hattie Taylor Sabin whose daughter married a Geibel. Lund family may be cousins Regards, Ellie
