Searching for infomation on my gg grandmother, Malinda Easter Giddens. Born somewhere in George March 24, 1849 and died in Pinellas County, Florida November 27, 1937. Buried at Slyvan Abbey Cemetery, Clearwater, Fl. She married Jasper Newton Redding Aug. 2, 1867. Children were: Elder C. Redding , Effie Edella Redding, James Henry Redding Letha Sopherina Redding, Newton Jasper Redding (My g grandfather), Minnie Neeter Redding, Laura Frances Redding, Martha Celesta Redding, Pearl May Redding, Vera Redding and Mary Melinda Redding. I would love to learn about Melinda's parents and siblings, etc. Her husband, Jasper Newton Redding was born in Boston, Lowndes, Georgia 1850.

This seems to be an unrelated branch to my Giddens line. Mine came from N.C. into central Alabama in the 1820's. After 1900 some moved to Florida, while Gr.grandfather moved to Georgia. I do not recognize any of the names you mention. Thank you for your response to my q. May the Lord Bless!

The family names Parrish, Mears and Yarborough all sound familiar . My Grand father was Green Shell Giddens , father of James Oliver Giddens and Louis Green Giddens Sr, and Minna Lee Giddens. There must be a connection. my email is tjllc12@yahoo.com
