My husband was born in Brooksville, FL which is in Hernando County. His father was born in Sanford, Fl. His grandfather's name was John Dawson Giddens. From what information that I have and people that I have spoken with that are "experts", per say, say that all the Giddens in the USA are related in one way or the other. His family goes back to NC and MD. If you would like any further information please contact me. I would like to know some of your family line, just to know and keep on file in case we may contact or run across someone who is researching the family later on. My father in law was married three times. I have a copy of the divorce decree but I can't find where he was married. They also had a daughter. I do not have a name. My mother in law said she came one time to see her dad after they were married but never came back or gave her name. He has a step sister from the second marriage. She remembers her but not a name. I have tried everywhere that I know to look to try and find a name. Any help would be appreciated. Jean in MS

Giddens--Hernando County, Florida
I have lots of information on the Giddens family who lived in Hernando County in the 1800's. BUT, putting it all together and finding out who belonged to who. To make matters worse, they named all their children the same names. There must be 4 Ezekiels and 4 Sarahs, complicating further. Contact me direct linda.c.peterson@gte.netif you think we have a connection.
