I am stumped here because the Texas Archives are recopying their microfiles @ this time. I know that Samuel Gidcumb died in a fire in Texas, but cannot find the date, nor birth record. Anyone?

Edith Gidcumd was my Grandmother. She lived in Odessa Texas until the sixties, or early seventies. She moved to Arizona and lived with her daughter, Betty Strang. My mother was Anita. She had two sons, Aldred and Richard. I need to find out my Grandfathers name, I think it was Cline, or Kline.

Kline

Hello Norman,

I have not contacted you in quite a while. But, as I recall, you were venturing across the pond to see if you could gather any info on the Gidcumb family prior to its arrival in the Colonies. I am wondering if you had any success, and whether you were able to forge any tie to connect how we got to the New World. My searching only gets me back to Thomas Gidcombe, b. in VA around 1740, and I have not been able to get any info on where he came from or who is parents were, or how they got to this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Do you have any new info on these matters as a result of your work? I hope you had an enjoyable trip and all went well! Thanks for any information you can share.
