I am looking to find a very close friend of my dad,his name was Pringle Gibb he was born around 1926 and he was in the second world war with my dad Eric Cutmore (nick name at time was Mum) He believes Pringle came from Scotland and he was in the 1st SAS,stationed inCo Durham in 1946 at Barnard Castle. He thinks he was born in Glasgow,Selkirk?
I hope this jogs someones memory as it would make my Dads day if Pringle is still alive he would love to meet up with him again after all this time
Kind Regards Lorraine

Hi,
I dont know if anyone has been in contact with you since dec 2002 about this. I am Pringle Gibbs granddaughter. Unfortunatly he passed away in january of 2001.
I am currently at the begining of resarch into the 1st SAS regiment and considering writting a script about it. If you or your dad has any interesting stories from that time, I would be very interested to hear them, if you would consider emailing anything to me?

Thanks for getting in contact,my Dad was very upset to know Pringle had passed away,he had tried to find him for so long and I took over and managed to find him(his wife) We have both spoken to his wife, she seems so nice, she said she would write to my Dad to talk about old times with Pringle but I don't think they have been in touch. My Dad would love to see photos of him,he has got a couple his self.
My Dad has got a few tales to tell but I will have to ask him to tell me so I can repeat them to you.
Good luck with your research into the 1st SAS Regiment,I would love to have a copy when you have completed it for my Dad.
you can e mail me direct if you like lorraine_jord44@hotmail.com
Thanks once again,keep in touch
Kind regards Lorraine
P.S where was Pringle buried? My Dad would love to know, if we visit Scotland we could visit his resting place.

Hi Lorraine,
I am so sorry to hear u r father has passed away i am sure he was a great man. Unfortunatly my Uncle Pringle was cremated at Morton Hall Edinburgh he was not a religious man at all he was my father's Bill's brother he also had another brother Jim who is also dead his sister Amy only passed away in July which was very sad as she was the last of my dad's family. Pringle's wife Cathy celebrates her 90th birthday on the 7th August. If you ever do come up to Scotland i am sure Pringle's Daughter's would love to meet u as would i.
Take care
Kind Regards

Hi Pauline,
Thank you for writing back,my Dad was a great man and I miss him so much.
He was over the moon when I found Pringle and wife Cathy sadly though we missed Pringle by a short while.
I would love to meet up with you all at some point for my Dad he so desperatly wanted to see Pringle again but now they are both in spirit I am sure they are having a great time talking over all the good and bad times they had together.
Thank you for writing and when we do go up to Scotland I promise I will drop in to see you and hopefully be able to pay my respects on Dads part at Pringles resting place.
Take care and speak soon
regards Lorraine
