I have pictures and info on Eusebe Gibault. I believe there are Gibaults in Western Canada who are descended from Eusebe. He and his wife Azilda (Crevier) had the following children: Alfred, Henri, Joseph, Edouard, Eugenie, Marguerite, Rose, Jean, Paul, and Alphonse. Three died at birth. Paul was killed in France during WW1. Henri was my grandfather.
Contact me if you would be interested in pictures and info.I have pictures of a number of Eusebe's children. I have traced Eusebe's lineage back to France.

I believe Alphonse is the father of my maternal grandmother Marguerite Anne Marie Brown(maiden/ birth name Marguerite Anne Marie Gibault).I was told Alphonse's father was from France - not sure if this is true though as both my grandparents have passed.

Thanks,

Marie Whitty

Alphonse was my maternal grandfather. He was a wonderful gentleman (married Anne Beaudry)who lived in Cut Knife, Saskatchewan until 1926 when he moved to Coos Bay Oregon (worked at Evans Products plant), returning to Canada in Vancouver BC in 1931. I believe he passed away in 1975 - - I was living in Ontario at the time. He was a staunch Montreal Canadiens fan - - I remember asking him who his favourite player was and he said "Didier Pitre" - - Wow, how many people would remember that player!

Hi.

Your Marguerite was my dad Joe's sister. He also had a brother Paul and sister Theresa. All married and had children. Alphonse was the hudband of Anna Beaudry. His father was Eusebe who was an alderman and merchant in St. Jerome Quebec before moving to Saskatchewabn in 1900. Cochin, Delams and Cutknife.

I have traced about 1400 of my Gibault and Beaudry ancestors. Gabriel, the first Gibault in Canada came from Lusignan Southwest of Poitiers in central western France (modern Department of Vienne - old Province of Poitou.) He was in Montreal about 1642. Our Beaudrys were descemded from Toussaint Baudry from the village of St Jean de Velluire in the marshes of the Vendee region/Department in western France (also in the old Province of Poitou). Other great grandparents were Creviers and Thouins. Th4e name Gibault first shows up with Gibault de St. Verain a baron on the old province of Nevers (Nivernais) in 1032! Bois Gibaud is nearby on the upper Loire. There are Gibault families in northern France Beaumont de Gibault in Picardy and a branch of them seem to have been the original owners of Chateau Gibaud near Cognac in south western France. There is even a Donaine Gibault winery. Claire Gibault inFrance is a orchestra conducter and member of the European Parliament, Thierry Gibault is a well known film actor. There is a branch of Gibaults on Jersey in the Channel Islands from which some went to London,South Africa
and Quebec City. Our Gibaults were strong Catholics but the region from which they came was a centre of religious wars and many Gibaults were Huguenots - French Protestants. We have first cousins spread around BC and second cousins in Saskatoon at least. I inherited Eusebe;s violin from my dad.
Alphonse and Annie (ANNA) were wonderful people. She was born on Argyl, Marshall County Minnesota and we have Beaudry cousins in Minnesota (some named Broadwell) and in Coos Bay Oregon where my dad and his parents brother and sisters lived during the Depression.
