Hi Rob.

Mt Grandfather was Antonio Gianoli, he was born in Teglio, Sondrio Italy in 1855. His father was Gervasio Gianoli & his mother was Catherina Bruni. Antonio immigrated to Australia in 1881. I don't know if he is related to Maria Teresa Gianoli, could have been a brother or cousin??
The information I have regarding Antonio Gianoli I obtained from his children's birth certs. & his marriage cert.
Interestingly there is a road (via) in Teglio (Google maps) named Via San Gervasio and it becomes Via Gianoli. Teglio is a grape growing district & my grand father had a little vineyard in Aust. Maybe the Gianoli's were connected with vineyards in Teglio??? Might be a starting point for researching Gianoli's in Sondrio.

Glynis

My great-great grandmother was Maria Teresa Gianoli and she was born in 1847, Italy. I know nothing of her family but she was married in Rogolo, Sondrio, Italy to Silvestro Girolo. I would assume then that her Gianoli family was in Sondrio area. Would love to know more of Gianoli family but can't find any links.

Ciao,
Rob Girolo

Hi Maria Theresa!

I'm from Costa Rica and my last name is gianoli too. I'm interested to know about genealogy of the gianoli's family.

What I know is that my great-grandfather came from Italy to Costa Rica, and there all my family expanded here en Costa Rica with the Gianoli last name.

I don't know how is the family tree from Italy and how many we are now with Gianoli last name. That's why I'm interested (I think we are few ones).

If you have any information, It will be great to know about our that.

Greetings from Costa Rica

Steven

Is Gianoli family originally coming from Sondrio (Italy)?
If yes, you should know that my ancestor Adelaide Zanatti married G.B. Gianoli in Sondrio in 1886. I would highly appreciate if we could share information about our families.

Ciao G. ZANATTI
zanatti@mail.matav.hu
