Any Giacomelli's (or descendants of Giacomelli's) out there? My immediate family is from Friuli-Venezia-Giulia (Italy), Poffabro (near Maniago).

greatgrandmother is a Teresa Giacomelli born in 1871. We are researching the Giacomelli line that went to Iron Mountain Michigan and then to Silverton Colorado.

I am responding to Vicki Faverino whose great grandmother came from Poffabro, born in 1871.

I believe my grandmother's father, Cesare Giacomelli, was from Poffabro, born in 1866, as was my grandfather's father Giovanni Vittoro Lorenzon, 1864. G.V. Lorenzon, my great grandfather, lived in Silverton, Colorado coming by way of Iron Mountain Michigan. I do not know the route taken by the Giacomelli branch, however, the Giacomelli's settled in Durango, not Silverton. There was another Giacomelli family in Silverton, my grandfather's good friend went by the name Fury Giacomelli. Perhaps they are the ones you are looking for.

With a name as uncommon as Giacomelli and the Iron Mountain/Silverton connection, I would be interested in hearing from you.

We have tickets to Italy this March. Poffabro is not on our itineray, mainly because I don't know what it would take to get there. Any advice is welcome.

Hi my name is Adriana Giacomelli. I am trying to trace my family roots. I was absolutely elated when I came upon this site. My Grandfather was Basil Giacomelli but I don't know his mother's name. He also immigrated from Poffabro with his family and moved to Silverton Colorado.. If you could give me some more information I would greatly appreciate it.. Thank you!!

Hi, my name is Adriana Giacomelli and I am Basil Giacomelli's grandaughter. Basil died a few years ago and I am trying to piece together a family tree.. I remember all his stories as a child and a young adult.. I remember him referring to his father Cesare.(I'm not sure if thats how it is spelled) I would really like to piece the puzzle together and find out what happened to some of our relatives. I have been to Poffabro where he was born, it is a beautiful little town. If you could give me any more information I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I'm not sure how old your posting was, but I am still trying to piece together a family tree. I don't know the name of my grandfather's mother, but the father was Cesare. I know my grandfather, Basil Giacomelli had brothers named John and Louie and a sister named Mary and another sister whose name I cannot recall. If you could help me out that would be great...

My whole Giacomelli family settled in Silverton & Durango, CO.
My uncles were Fiore, Tony, Frank and John. I saw Fiore & Maggie just before they passed away. Thier son Louie and daughter Kathryn were still alive at the time.
I am researching them and could use all the help anyone could provide.

Hello

My nonno was Giovanni Giacomelli, born 1897 in Italy and had 3 sisters. I know he came from a town very close to the Swiss border. He came to Australia around 1930's/40's. He married around 1948/49 to Teresa and had 2 daughters.
