Giacalone Family from Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily
My grandmother was Girolama Giacalone 1897-1977. She married Santo Dei Santi in 1920 in Mazara. They immigrated to St. Louis, Missouri in 1920 and raised their family there. Girolama's parents were Francesco Giacalone and Agatina? I don't have a last name for her. Other siblings of Girolama were Pietrina, Vito, Matteo 1890-1973, Ignazio 1894-1955, and Vincenzo 1906-1984. All staying in Marzara except Girolama.

Re: Giacalone Family from Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily
My grandfather was Vito Giacalone on my father's side. I know he came to U.S. arriving at Ellis Island as a boy. There were 7 siblings. 2 of his siblings died at birth. Any similarities to your family tree?
Trying to do a family tree for my sons school project, but it is not as easy as I thought.

Re: Giacalone Family from Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily
There are a ton of Giacalone's in Mazzara Del Vallo....My wife's (a Giacalone) Aunt has a phone book from there and there are pages of them. My wife's family's first point of residence was St. Louis and then on San Diego. My guess is the Girolama may have been a cousin.

Re: Giacalone Family from Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily
My uncle's great grandmother was Anna Gicalone from the Mazara del Vallo area. Her father was Michele Giaclone and her mother was Benvenuta Marro. Do these names sound familiar to anyone?

Re: Giacalone Family from Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily
I am also interested in Giacalone's from Mazarra. My grandmother was born around 1901 and named Maria Giacalone. She came to the United States around 1920 and settled in Boston, Massachusetts. She was known to have relatives in Louisiana. Just putting this out there in case we connect on someone's tree.
