Just browsing the internet and found this page. I'm trying to do some geneology so if anybody has roots to San Diego or California Giacalone's, let me know. Thanks Lorenzo

Gaicalone's in San Diego, CA
hello i'm a kid in the Giacalone family in San Diego, CA. My grandfather was Paul Giacalone and greatgrandfather was Vito Giacalone. And my father is Vito Giacalone SR. So if you would like please write back, i would love to know about my family!

Hi Vito, Just wondering if you have any relatives in Massachusetts? All the Giacalones I am related to are there

I am very interested in the history of my family. As of right now, I don't know much. I am pretty sure my great-grandparents came over from Sicily, but I don't know when or their names. I am the second son of Stephen M. Giacalone. He is the middle son of three (David and Daniel are his brothers). We all live in the vicinity of Louisville, KY. I don't know if there is any relation between us, but I just thought I'd throw this out there. Jonathan Giacalone

My maiden name is Giacalone. Here's some info for you, though I don't know how helpful it will be: Since I am stationed with my husband in Italy I have visited Sicily a couple of times. From my experiences, Giacalone is a name most typical in the areas of Trapani, Palermo, and Marsala Sicily, okay, so more of the western side of the island. I am daughter of Vincent Giacalone,he is a descendent of Anthony Joseph Giacalone of Vineland NJ who died in 1977 I think. Looking to find out more info about my own family soon, but I hope this helps you out some.

I am a Giacalone from Oshawa Ontario Canada. My father hails from Vita provinca di Trapani. His name is Vito Francesco. His father and mother are Leonardo and Maria Giacalone. My Aunt is Anna Giacalone. She is currently the mayor of our town. I would really appreciate any information you may have on the family name. The Giacalone name has been spread out mostly throughout the Trapani and Palermo areas.
I would love to here from people with the family name who are from our area in Sicilia or who were from our area and have immigrated elsewhere in Canada or the states.

It's been so long since I left a message on here. But I have been to Trapani, Sicily. It was amazing to see the Giacalone name on signs every where! All I really know on my family is that my Great-Grandfather is from Marsala Sicily, which is a little bit south of Trapani. Looking in the Palermo phone book for a Giacalone is like looking for Smith or Jones in a U.S. phone bood! If I come upon any more information, I will do my best to share it with you.

Re: trying to find info on family
I am doing research for my husbands half brothers. they are formicolas, but their grandma Guiseppa Gaicalone Formicola moved with her husband to San Diego from Italy, I beleive it was Sicily, however, both Grandma and Grandpa are deceased and I seem to be the only one interested in finding out anything. Would love to hear from you if you have any info on Giacalone in the San Diego area.
