Ilene I don't know how useful this information will be to you. My late father-in-law, Robert Ghrist, never spoke of his family during the 25 years I knew him. From his wife we've learned that he was born in southwest PA (my husband knows the town). He had 2 brothers and a sister. The sister died in a car accident in Texas, I believe sometime in the 50's. He joined the army at the age of 17 around 1946. I believe he was raised by an aunt in PA. If this information is helpful please let me know, I can put you in contact with my soon to be ex-husband and his mother.

Thank you ,Darlene, for your mesg. Perhaps I could contact the one you refered to, if you give me his email address. I know George and John grew up in Pa. so maybe the are connected somehow. Thanks, again.

I don't know if this helps, but both my parents are from PA. My fathers name is Harry Frank Ghrist Jr., born 1926. His father's name was Harry Ghrist Sr. Since my grandfather and his wife were seperated before I was born, I only know her married name, Nancy Ghrist. They had 2 sons, my dad (Harry), and his brother Robert Ghrist(Now living in CA., one daughter, Jenny or Jennifer. I will be talking with my father when he gets back (2 days) and see if I can get more detail for you.
|
I forgot to mention that Harry Ghrist Sr had a brother named Harold. Not much, but who knows?
