Hi, I'm trying to trace the William Dabney and Eliza Gholston family. William was son of Nathaniel Bullock and Bethany Loucinda Jarrell Gholston of the Madison County, Georgia area. It looks like the younger kids scattered after the their parents died in the 1850's. I have been unable to find William Dabney Gholston in the 1860 census but I figure he was still in the Madison County area of Georgia. His brother, Nathaniel Bonapart Gholston, was living with his sister, Francis Gholston Long, in 1860.

I did pick up both William Dabney and Nathaniel Bonapart Gholston in 1870 living in Pontotoc County, Mississippi in the area that became Union County. This is the census record that interests me most because of the John Martin living with them there. This is most likely the John Martin that was my gggg grandfather.

I have been unable to find the William Dabney Gholston family on a record later than this. I am wondering if anyone knows where they went and what Eliza's maiden name was.

I do know that Nathaniel Bonapart Gholston and John A. Martin moved to the Chapellville area of Lee County (near Guntown) and never lived more than a few houses from one another the rest of their lives....in fact, they are buried near one another in the same cemetery.

Thanks -----------------
