I am African-American and live in Detroit. I would like to make contact with anyone who has information on my great grandfather, George Washington Gholston. He was married to Elizabeth. The Gholston family lived in Fulton and DeKalb counties. They lived on the McElroy farm in Georgia at one time directly after slavery ended. George Washington Gholston was a minister and was instrumental in establishing Mount Carmel AME Church in, I believe, Doraville, GA, along with Rev. Trim Ford. His sister was Called Aunt Beattie (sp?), perhaps her name was Mary. Believe he had a brother, don't know the name. One of his children was David Timothy Gholston, Sr., (my grandfatherI). I have no information as to his ancestors. Please contact me if you have ANY similar information.

I am the grand daughter of George Washington Gholston and Elizabeth Castleberry Gholston. I donot remember my grandfather, but I remember my grandmother well. In her last days, she lived with my sister, and passed into heaven in her home. I was so happy to read about my grandfather, and his children which include my Dad, Fred.
