Well this is five years later - i wonder if anyone will pick it up? I am the son of olga Ferguson (nee filios) cousin of Marius Ghikas, whom I have met on several occasions in Arusha and Moshi. I remember Rosemary and Alex quite well, and my mother still has comms with Cynthia. We are all well, a real greeko-scottish mix.

feel free to email me,

best

Hi Sean,

Doesn't ring any bells, I will ask my mother who is a Filios but with Ghikas links by cousin. Do you have east african connections? Or obviously Greek somewhere along the line - do you know where the family comes from in Greece?
are you in the states?

Our family also keeps with a three brother's story similar to this. Although our version says that the brother's were given the name Gygax by this baron due to their unusual size.
I don't know how it is in other branches but in mine we are still very tall.

Dear Samantha,

Five years later and I have just found your reply, as I'm still wondering about Dimitri. Please accept my excessively late condolences. As you say really sad, especially as he was my age.

My kind wishes to you and the rest of the family,

Martin

Many years ago (1976), while a student in Leeds, living on Pearson Grove, in the Hyde Park area, I met a delightful person named Christina Ghikas the day before I left for home in Ireland at the start of the Summer vacation. I believe that she was to graduate that year. She accompanied me to the airport (if my memory is correct). Her home address was: P.O.Box 80, Moshi, Tanzania. I sent mail a few times with no reply. I have often wondered what happened to her and how her story continued? Maybe she is a member of the Ghikas family I have just read about briefly. If so, please remember me to her and tell her to lok me up if ever this way. I am now a professor at the University of Leeds. Regards,

Hello Bianca
I have just found out that my great grandfather John Ghikas (Yiannis) came from Ioannina. Have you any information concerning him? He moved south and settled in Epidavros.
