I am looking for information on the GEYLIKMAN family from Gomel. Known relatives include Pesia Genya (married Boris SANDLER), Daina/Doina (married Unknown ALTMAN), Elya Zalmanov (father of Pesia and Daina), Zalman Davidov (father of Elya), and David (father of Zalman). The family owned a house at 58 Zamkovia Street in Gomel and had a store that sold tobacco and office supplies in Gomel around 1911.

Pesia emigrated here with her daughter Tamara. Other children in the US included son Louis and daughters Ida and Sadie. My aunt tells me that there were a total of 15 (!) children, and one or two died young. The others may have remained in the Gomel area.

My grandmother Elena Geylikman was born in Gomel. She had five sisters: Manya, Milya, Jenya, Nadya, Zelya. Her grandfather Boruh lived in Gomel and was married to Slava. There oldest son Leib Geylikman was my great-grandfather. Leib was married to Sofia Korobochkina. He was a merchant and had a fabric shop in Gomel.

Marina,

Thank you for the information. It sounds like there could be a connection. Unfortunately, I don't have access to more information that would clarify things, so I may have to do some guessing.
