Can someone expand on the CC Gewin that arrived in the new world around 1683 and the CC Gewin that is reported to be born in Virginia in 1683. I have several CC Gewin's in the Virginia line, but this one keeps popping up with no reference to his father or later descendants.
Second question: I have been searching for years to find information on the actual immigration of
the original CC Gewin. Best guess is that he left Cornwall as the second son of a well documented Thomas Gewen that was expelled from Cromwell's Parliament and then was reelected. The elder Thomas had a son also named Thomas that carried on in Cornwall, but I can't find any reference to CC Gewen's departure. Several references of ships from Bristol with indentured servants were bound for Maryland. One has servants disembarking in Maryland and a couple continuing on to Va. which makes perfect sense. I just can't find any of the known indentured servants that appear on the CC Gewin land grant of 1704 in either Virginia or Maryland.
