I have found some information . . . at Daniel's generation, the family name was rendered "Gewin" in the Green County, Alabama marriage records. In the 1870 and 1880 census it is rendered the same. My Great Grandfather Christopher was rendered "Guin" in the Navarro County Texas census in 1880. There is enough information (spouse and children names) to assume John Geuin and John Gewin were one in the same. The dates are Birth-Death and the letters are birth place. It looks like Daniel is a brother of William H. Each of the Christopher Geuin (Gewin)'s are "Christopher Columbus" and there are numerous other Christopher Columbus' found as sons of the other family members. I have only listed Christopher in 1660 to me. I believe he died in the US, probably Virginia. The children of the Christopher born in 1730 are Charles Fenley (maybe Alice's Maiden name ??), Sarah, Abigail, Elizabeth, Kidar, John and Thomas. John would have been just 6 years old at the Revolution, but Kidar would have been 21. All these children were apparently born in Nansemonde County Virginia or Edgecombe County or Anson County, NC. . . Sarah married a Smith, Abigail married a Lundee and Elizabeth married a Norris. As you know, John married Elizabeth Hicks, and Thomas married Charity Cox. I haven't looked, but there may be some Revolutionary War records for some of these names. The 1880 census in Texas lists that Christopher's parents (Daniel and Susan) as both being born in South Carolina, while he and Ellen were both born in Mississippi.
