Erma E. Geurts, 84, De Pere, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family March 31, 2007. The daughter of Michael and Odelia (Liebergen) Heim was born June 12, 1922, in Green Bay. Erma married Arthur Geurts on Sept. 6, 1941, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Green Bay. He preceded her in death July 7, 1999. Art and Erma owned and operated Geurts' Bar in De Pere for over 30 years. Erma enjoyed couples bowling with Art for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community. Erma was a person of faith and prayed daily for her family and friends. She was an avid Packers and NASCAR fan.


Erma is survived by her children, Sharon (Ken) Peters, Sandy (Marvin) Clarksen, Mike (Louise) Geurts, Linda (Tim) Robertson, Kelly (Donna) Geurts, all De Pere; Rick (Sherri) Geurts, Greenleaf; Scott (Mary) Geurts, Seymour; Jeff (Debbie) Geurts, Perry (Lynn) Geurts, both De Pere; her grandchildren, Todd Peters and his friend, Jane, Eric (Missy) Peters, Bruce (Lori) Clarksen, Brian (Chris) Clarksen, Kevin Clarksen, Cathy Clarksen, Matt (Carrie) Clarksen, Doug Geurts, Michelle (Todd) West, Shannon (Scott) Luscher, Tara (Jason) Wegner, Jason Geurts, Josh Geurts, Kendall Leigh Geurts, Colten Geurts, Katrina Geurts, Cameron Geurts; 9 great-grandchildren, Ella and Tessa Peters, Nicholas, Courtney, Brianna and Connor Clarksen, Evan Gilbert, Jacob and Jeremy West; brother and sisters, Lorraine Geurts and Alice Danielski, both Green Bay; and Leo (Arlene) Heim, Denmark; sisters-in-law, Loretta La Court, Luxemburg; and LaVerne Geurts, De Pere; numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; great-grandson, Cory Partrick Clarksen; her sisters and brothers, Alma (Henry) Baye, Evelyn (Nick) Sasman, Loretta (Leslie) Connelly, Clarence (Josephine) Heim, Richard (Margaret) Heim, Gordon (Tillie) Heim and her twin brother, Urban (Bernice) Heim.


Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday (TODAY) at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Avenue, De Pere. Parish Prayer Service 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established in Erma's name. Erma's family extends a special thank you to the entire staff of the 9th floor at St. Vincent Hospital as well as the staff at Woodside Manor III for all of their care and concern.
