YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Sara Jane Martin Gerlach, 69, who passed away Sunday, Feb 26, 2012 at Hospice House.

Sara was born June 2, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Roy Lynn and the late Winona Jane (Neumann) Martin.

She moved to California in 1962 and moved back to Youngstown in 1988. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Delbert Gerlach, whom she married May 26, 1962, passed away Nov. 4, 1988.

Sarah made her home at Omni Manor Care Center, where she attended church services. She enjoyed the many activities at Omni Manor. Sara helped with different tasks at the Way Station in Columbiana, Ohio.

She leaves one son, Dale E. Wilson in Florida; her father of Austintown, Ohio; two sisters, Carolee (Jerry) Treharn and Barbara Martin, one brother, Richard (Linda) Martin, and one half sister, Margaret (Keith) Hood, all of Austintown.

Besides her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her mother; and her stepmother, Wilma Martin.

Family and friends may call from 7 p.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sara’s family would like to sincerely thank all the devoted, caring staff at Omni Manor that gave her much attention, care and compassion the past 15 years and for the compassionate care at Hospice House the last days of her life.
