Re: Sam Geraci - Phila Barber
Sam Geraci changed his last name to Gerace. He actually had three sons: Peter, Philip, and Vince, my dad. We lived in West Philadelphia, on 63rd street. Our house was behind our barber shop.
Uncle Pete was married to my aunt Adeline. Philip was married to Florence, and lived in Florida. My father, who once lived in West Phila., married my mother, Mildred, and had ten children. Mom and dad are still alive and now live in a suburb of Phila.
Philip's son Philip (my cousin) just wrote to me and said that you are related to my deceased aunt Stella who lived in Reading, PA. She married Bill Mayan.

Re: Sam Geraci - Phila Barber
If Sam Geraci originally came from New Orleans, or if he lived there in the 1910s and 1920s, I may have some info for you. There may be a Scafidi connection there too.

Re: Sam Geraci - Phila Barber
Very interested in more information on Sam Geraci and the Scafidi's in New Orleans and Mississippi. Please contact me or post. Uncle Sam cut my hair when he visited his sister in law, my grandmother in Bay St. Louis in the "50s. Thank you. Carlo

Re: Sam Geraci - Phila Barber
Sam was a nickname for him, his real first name was Salvatore and after he arrived on the boat from Caccamo, Sicily, he lived in Philadelphia until his death. The Scafidi connection is through his wife (Rose Lodato) whose sister Stella married A Scafidi and lived in Bay St. Louis, MS

Re: Sam Geraci - Phila Barber
Salvatore "Sam" Geraci immigrated to Philly from Sicily. The Scafidi connection is by way of Stella, the Sister of Salvatores wife who married a Scafidi.

Re: Sam Geraci - Phila Barber
This is way off I'm sure, but my great grandmother is also named Josephine Lodata, but she married Vita Urso. They lived in Cimina, Sicily, Parlermo. There are very few records I am finding with the name Lodata, birth, death, Marriage. If this is any relation to you, please contact me. They had a son Pietro, my grandfather and a daughter Carmela which became a nun and never immigrated. Thanks Jackie, Johnstown PA
