I am decended from the Geras of Wilpen, PA. Michael Gera was my Grandfather, and he had a brother named John. Are the names Sophie, Michael, Steve, Joe, or Elizabeth at all familliar? Uncle Joe put together a family history-mostly anecdotal, lineage data is somewhat sparse- and I would be willing to share info if possible...I myself am looking to track down Simeon Gera, a bugler for the German Army c.1900, who is my great-great-great-grandfather. Thanks!

Michael. Reply to your inquiry re Gera family. My father, John Gera was born in Banske, Slovakia(Austria-Hubgary) on 20 July, 1903. He is alive and lives in Mahwah, NJ. He has(had) brothers Michael and Andre; ans sisters Susan(lives somewhere in Germany) and Anna Velcko who lives in Vranov, Slovakia. He was married to Anna (Jacko) who passed away in 1963 and then to Anna Lesko who passed away in 1994. Perhaps you can give me some update re your side. Not too many Gera's around. Regards, John. Dear Michael,
I am a distant cousin. I met your mother at the Fraikor reunion in Windber in 1998. I am descended from Anna Gera who married George Fraikor - not your Annie Gera who was married to John Gera Sr. - your great grandfather. I have some information and would love to collaborate. I have also been in touch with your aunt Jean but that has been some time ago and she has not replied to my letters. Perhaps I have her address incorrect. Anyway, I would love to share.

Hello Michael,

we are Marta and Anna Gera (Gerova). We are from Banske
and our granfather and father still live there while we are currently working in Europe.

My granfather is Michael Gera and was born in 1921 and
he has a sister called Maria Gera (married Semanova).

His father's name was Pavel (Paul) Gera born
around 1896 and we know for sure he emigrated very
young (Canada) and stayed there for about 9 years.
Her wife was Anna Sulcova died in 1989 in Banske.

We feel sure there must been some relative relationship
as Banske is a very small village and Gera' family
are not many:)

feel free to write me (better in french if you can as I'm
not very good in english and this letter was written on
my behalf by my sister's husband).

Bye

Marta & Anna Gera
