Looking for any information on the GEPPI family. My materal granddfather, Vincent Geppi, came to America around 1900 from Cefalu, Sicily or Polarmo, Sicily and settled in the Baltimore Maryland area. His wife was the former Giovannina Messina, also from Sicily. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

My maiden name is Geppi. I think that I know who your father is, my cousin and I have been doing a family tree and I would be more than glad to help you. Cathy

A cousin of my husband married Anthony (Tony) Geppi in Baltimore, MD, who was a son of John Geppi. Tony's widow thinks her father-in-law John had two brothers, Frank and Vince. If you have a family tree, could you share what you have if it includes Anthony Geppi's ancestors? Thanks.

My mother's maiden name is Geppi. I never knew my real grandfather, as my grandmother divorced him when my mom was young. They were from Baltimore, MD. My mom's name is Joan, and I have an uncle Frank and Vince Geppi.

Not sure if this fits in the Geppi family which is part of my husband's family by marriage, not a direct line. I will check with some people and see if they know anything about Joan Geppi. Do you know your grandfather Geppi's name? or grandmother's?

Your grandfather (Vincent Geppi) and my grandfather (Anthony Geppi) were brothers, making us second cousins (different grandparents, but the same great grandparents). My mother was Frances Geppi, 8th child born to Anthony and Rose Geppi. They moved to Poplar Grove St., Baltimore, around 1920. Your grandfather was in the fruit business with my grandfather at Lexington Market.

I just saw you 2001 message about Giovannina Messina. Vincent and Giovannina (Aunt Jenny to my mother) are buried at New Cathedral Cemetery in Catonsville, MD, next to Anthony and Rose Geppi. There's also a half-brother, Salvatore Battaglia, buried on the other side of the Family Stone. Anthony, Vincent and Salvatore all had the same mother (Olivia), but different fathers.

Isn't Ted Bienert your first cousin, son of Margaret Bienert?

I have been trying to find out Vincent and Anthony's parents names. I know their mother was Olivia who died in Cefalu at the age of 98 before or after WWII. I'm looking for her maiden name. I was told by one of the relatives she married John Geppi. Do you have any further info on them? When did John Geppi die?

My Great Grandfather's name was Vincent Geppi also. He died young at around 42 years old I believe in 1935 when my Grandfather was around 17. My Grandfather's name was Salvatore. He also had a brother Frank and sister Catherine. I've always been interested in my family history. I'm always asked do you know this Geppi or that Geppi? I only know my immediate family. I believe my Great Grandfather had around 9 brothers and sisters but I could be wrong. My Grandfather had a falling out years ago with his brother and sister. He passed in 1995. I learned as much as I could about family history before he passed. My Grandfather worked at Lexington market when he was young. I would like any information anyone could give me? Thank you.

Surnames: Geppi, Guttman
I am trying to trace the Baltimore Geppi line from Frank D. Geppi who was married to Catherine Guttman. Frank D. Geppi's father was part of Lexington Market, and there was reportedly a tribute made to him when Lexington Market closed. The confusion here is in figuring out which Geppi was Frank D. Geppi's father. Any suggestions?
