Geppert Studios, Des Moines, Iowa
An old picture, probably taken late 1800's early 1900's, was found in my Aunts home. No names on the back just Geppert Studios, DesMoines. Is anyone on this list familiar or connected to this Geppert? Would love to be able to identify people in photo if possible.

Re: Geppert Studios, Des Moines, Iowa
I have an 8x10 photo with the Geppert Studion stamp on back. Also has an address: 205-1/2 East Locust, Des Moines Iowa. This is a photo of an elderly woman sitting in a rocking chair. She is wearing a floor length dress with a white lace collar. A childs hand can be seen resting on her arm. There is a hand lettered number that appears to be a coded file, account, or photo number. The number is 116182-k. Anyone have knowledge of this company and who might have possession of the photo negatives. Thanks Jim Clark jclark30009@bellsouth.net

Re: Geppert Studios, Des Moines, Iowa
I have a picture of my mother in law and her sister taken about 1930 to 1935 by Geppert.
The picture was taken in or around Shennandoah Iowa area when these two used to play their gutiars live on KMA and KFNF in Shen.
Must have been a very large studio for its time to get so far away from home back then.

Re: Geppert Studios, Des Moines, Iowa
Something interesting I found on: http://wikibin.org/articles/dean-studios.htmlPART of the quote from that web site says: "Dean Studios was the partnership of: Clark H. Geppert, Byron Geppert and Fidelis Geppert. On September 29, 1960 they were issued a Cease and Desist decission by the Federal Trade Commission for deceptive promotional practices. " For more details go to the web site. I do not want to copy too much.

HI Craig,
Do you know how I could locate information about a Geppert photo I have? It has a code stamp on the back.
Does someone have the old files?
Thanks

Re: Geppert Studios, Des Moines, Iowa
Hi, I was wondering if you knew of a house Clark Geppert owned in the '60's in Clear Lake, IA. My mom (maiden name: Willson) remembers going there when she was little and has pictures of her swimming in the lake. I don't remember if she said they were related or just friends of the family but she is taking a trip up there and can't remember the address. Is there any way you would know? Thanks, Emily ( ejhoward517@gmail.com)
