She died Saturday,January 11,2003 from complications following surgery
She was born May 1, 1921 to Josephine and Frank Muccie in Trenton, NJ
She decided to be a pilot at 17 and worked at the local airport to earn money for flying lessons. She obtained her pilot's license at age 19 with 300 hours and was working toward ehr instructor's license when WWII was declared.
She trained in Sweetwater TX as part of teh WASP--Women Airforce Service Pilots. She was in teh second class, 43-2 part of teh Air Transport Command Ferrying Division AT-6,BT-13,PT-19 and B-25 bomber.
After the War, she married and owned and operated a millinery factory in Dallas, TX and a health food store in West Palm Beach FL.
She is survived by her children, Laura Holland and spouse Tom, Sue Legacy and husband Don, Michael Genaro, all of Austin; Cynthia LaMorticella and husband Tony and grandchildren, Mario and Adria from Eugene OR; sisters, Madeline, Loretta, Dorothy, Gloria and Joannie.
