Regina GELB from Poland, later 19th century
Hello! I have a great-great-grandmother whose name I believe was Regina GELB. She married a man named GREEN and had 8 children, one of whom was born in Nowy Sacz, Poland in 1883: Teodora, Samuel, Herman, Gisela, Lily, Rose, Simcha and Betti. If you think you have a connection, please let me know! Thanks!

Re: Regina GELB from Poland, later 19th century
Hi! My Grandfather, Samuel Gelb, was born in Philadelpia in 1905 and died there in 1989. He said his family came from what was then Danzig, Germany. That city is now Gdansk, Poland. I don't know if that helps, but if Regina came from there as well there stands a good chance that we are related. Please let me know if you have any other info.....thanks!

Re: Regina GELB from Poland, later 19th century
Hi Alex, great to hear from you!
It sounds like your grandfather is about two generations younger than Regina. Unfortunately I don't know anything about Regina's family so I wouldn't know of a connection myself. Do you know anything further about your grandfather's people?
I've also looked at a map of Poland and it appears that our GELBs are from completely opposite ends of the country! Gdansk is in the north and Czorstyn is is in the south.
Cheers,
Kathleen.

Duh, sorry, I should have said, *Nowy Sacz* is in the south. Some of my other ancestors hail from Czorstyn, I got temporarily confused. :)

Re: Regina GELB from Poland, later 19th century
That's awesome! I do indeed have Rose Green marrying a Henry Roselbach and having two children: Dorothy and Sadie! You are apparently my second cousin once removed - your mother Dorothy and my grandfather Samuel are/were first cousins, as their mothers were sisters (Rose and Teodora). I will try to contact you at the email address listed for you so we can exchange more information.
Cheers,
Kathleen Sperling
