My father is Leo Gehl. His parents were John and Grace Gehl. They lived in West Branch, MI. I don't know for sure if we are related, but some of our ancestors are from Germany also. My dad has 4 brothers, the oldest one is deceased, but the rest still live in West Branch. You might want to contact my cousin Richard Gehl @ paperboy@voyager.net. His mom knows a lot of our family history.
Good Luck,
Please contact me if I can be of further assistance.

The Gehl side of our family came from Budapest, during a time when Budapest was a triparteid of Germany, Austria & Hungary. They emigrated to the USA in the early 1900's, living in New York City, Griffens Mills, NY; Rochester, NY; and Buffalo, NY. My Grandmother's name was Rose Dinczer.

By now you will likely have gotten the information you were looking for but, if not, I have Katherina and her many siblings with Father Wilhelm Gehl and Mother Margrethe Gros with details. Would love to see better listing of Lobsingers who dexcended from Katherina, in particular a Martin Lobsinger who resided with an Aunt in Sault St. Marie Michigan in 1901. The Aunt (Elizabeth Ellis, was married to John Alexander Gehl, brother of Katherina.
